The VFOF is the first film festival of its kind in Canada.  Through media and corporate sponsors we expect to grow the festival as we build awareness over time. 

As the audience grows in the future, the festival will grow along with it. We expect to have some thrilling additions in the years to come, including photo competitions, an expanded lecture series, community programs, and eventually a Canadian city tour. This will further the mission of the festival and greatly increase the exposure of its supporters.

The VFOF is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to using film to increase public understanding of the environmental, social and cultural importance of marine ecosystems and foster a spirit of ocean stewardship. Sponsorship proceeds will be used to cover basic VFOF expenses such as venue and equipment rental, guest speaker fees (honorarium, lodging and transportation), communication, transportation, administrative costs, advertising, and VFOF office and event production staff.
