At VFOF, our goal is to inspire and stimulate people to explore their relationship with the ocean by bringing together local and international filmmakers and presenters in a multimedia event and juried film competition.

We aim to raise interest and awareness of the ocean not only as a place for positive recreation, but also as a place of sustainable and responsible commerce, and a wilderness to be respected.

Because we are committed to supporting organizations that share our beliefs, we donated the profits from our 2010 festival to the Surfrider Foundation and to the Take A Hike Foundation. Both these organizations share our passion for education and the protection of our oceans and beaches.

The Festival will feature exhilarating films showcasing ocean sports such as sailing, paddling and surfing, as well as inspiring films highlighting the ocean environment, culture and exploration.
